Leave It To Beaver Reference[edit]
In the 60's version of Steelport when you walk down the stairs of your house, you see the words 'Leave It To The Saints.' This seems to be a nod to the 60s television sitcom, 'Leave It to Beaver.'
Men in Black Weapon and Developer Shooting Gallery[edit]
Find the Let's Pretend store in New Baranec (southwest Steelport), and go inside. You may be able to do this at any Let's Pretend store. Shoot the 'Employees Only' door with any weapon until it opens. Go down the hallways and stairs to reach a secret room containing a colorful shooting gallery with images of the developers of the game. There is also a special weapon on the chair to the right of the entrance door called the Loud Locust. It is a tiny pistol that is very powerful. The weapon is a reference to the Noisy Cricket from the Men In Black movie.
Star Wars Reference[edit]
Saints Row IV isn't even out yet but with the recent release of the Inauguration Station the game's first easter egg comes in the form of a unique little outfit within the game. If the player goes into the Outfit's section of Planet Zin they will be able to find the Ransom Collector. The Ransom Collector is a reference to Boba Fett from Star Wars and the Outfit is very similar to the armour worn by Boba in the films.
During one of the main story quests in an area similar to where you fought Matt Miller in the previous game you will see coding appear on the screen. One of the lines of code says, 'initiating order 66'. which for those of you who don't know is a reference to episode three where the clones are ordered to kill all jedi.
Dead Island Easter Egg[edit]
Early in the game you meet Keith David (Vice President of the United States). He makes pointed reference to playing a previous Deep Silver game, Dead Island. Deep Silver is also the distributor Saints Row 4. Additionally, when you exit the simulation in the final mission, the command prompt shows up, one of the commands reads crossover_dead_island_saints_row.
How to Customize Non-customizable Vehicles
[edit]
It is pretty much the exact same in Saints Row: The Third but I decided to show you anyway.
Spongebob the Movie Reference[edit]
Early in the game when you are in the 60's Version of Steelport and at the resturaunt to greet your Fans there is a song playing in the backround. This is an instrumental version of Spongebob and Patrick's song: *Now That We're Men'.
Harry Potter Reference
[edit]
When I was playing, I went on top of a tower and I saw this broom and I decided to ride it. It was pretty fun exept that it said it was a VTOL.
The Penetrator[edit]
Every one Remembers the Iconic Penetrator/Dildo Bat from Saints Row: The Third. It can be found in a cave behind a holographic bush, below a bridge on the western end of the map.
Metal Gear Solid Reference[edit]
In the mission From Asha With Love, there are numerous reference to metal gear solid such as enemies getting a symbol over head and the alert noise from MGS can be heard. Towards the middle of the mission you get inside of a cardboard box and crawl around murdering people in secrecy
Streets of Rage Reference[edit]
The majority of the story mission The Very Next Day is an homage to side-scrolling beat em' up games like Streets of Rage.
Infinite Wardens[edit]
You must be in a co-op game for this to work. Go to a speed rift with your friend. When there, both you and your friend must press Y or Triangle simultaneously. If done correctly, you should not be in the rift, but your mini map won't show you any activities. Now get your wanted rating up until a warder appears, kill him, and another should immediately drop from the sky to take his place. It does not disable trophies/achievments and is good for the zoo keeper challenge/achievement.
Matrix References[edit]
When you defeat the Wardens, they reference the scene when Neo jumps into Agent Smith.
Ben King is also dressed as Morpheus when he gets his super powers. You can purchase his glasses in 'Let's Pretend' and they're even titled 'Morpheus Glasses'.
Mortal Kombat Reference[edit]
War Games Movie Reference[edit]
When Zinyak and Kinzie are arguing in the console command box in the mission 'Miller-Space', Kinzie types in 'initiate thermonuclear war'. Zinyak replies, 'The only winning move is not to play'. This is a reference to Matthew Broderick in the movie 'War Games'.
Star Wars Movie Reference[edit]
When Zinyak and Kinzie are arguing in the console command box in the mission 'Miller-Space', Kinzie types in 'Initiate Order 66'. This is a reference yo when Emperor Palpatine commands all clones to kill the Jedi.
Team Fortress 2 Reference[edit]
In any weapons shop, in the 'Buy/Upgrade Weapons' catagory, there's a special customization from the Semi-Auto Shotgun called Fortress. But what makes it even MORE interesting is that it's description reads 'Cry some more!'
Star Trek Reference[edit]
In any weapons shop, in the 'Buy/Upgrade Weapons' catagory, there's a special customization for the Quickshot Pistol called the Blaster. And to make it even clearer, one of it's descriptions reads 'Not suited for Red Shirts.'
Minecraft Reference[edit]
In the 'Let's Pretend' clothing shop, one of the hats you can buy looks very suspiciously like..Steve!
PAUL MOVIE REFERENCE[edit]
go to the friendly fire in the top right of the map. if you have it unlocked then go to the simulation doorway in steelport, camano place. if you go right from the doorway a little you will see a statue of a woman with three tits holding a lantern. now where have we seen that before?
Firefly Reference[edit]
The last magnum customization option is Captain Mal's pistol. The description reads; 'For when you aim to misbehave'.
Watchmen Reference[edit]
In any weapons shop select the 'Buy/Upgrade Weapons' category, there's a special customization for the Penetrator called the Good Doctor. It's a reference to the movie's character Dr. Manhattan. To clear it up even more its description reads 'What is this? Another ultimate weapon?'. This is a direct quote from the character.

Secret Salem Broomstick vehicleClimb to the very top of Zin Tower in Rosen Oaks to find the secret Salem Broomstick vehicle. It is a broomstick that you can fly around on. The Salem Broomstick was part of the 'Witches And Wieners' DLC from Saints Row: The Third.
Secret The Penetrator (Dildo Bat) weaponIn Brickston, go to the bridge leading east out of the neighborhood. Search for a hidden cave just north of the bridge, right next to the water. Inside the cave is The Penetrator (Dildo Bat) weapon from Saints Row: The Third.
Customizing any vehicleTo customize any non-customizable vehicle, take any customizable vehicle into Rim Jobs, and press Triangle. Go to 'Garage' in the menu, and highlight a vehicle that is not customizable from your list, but do not press the button to retrieve it. Instead, press Circle to back out of the menu, and then select 'Accept' to confirm the exit. It will now take you directly to the customizing menu.
Beavis And Butthead referenceIn the 'Breaking The Law' mission, you get the Pyro elemental. This is a reference to Beavis And Butthead. Beavis was a pyromaniac that said 'Fire Fire' while watching things burn, and 'Breaking the law, breaking the law.'
Chronicles Of Riddick referenceAfter killing Zinyak, Kinzie says 'You keep what you kill.' This is a reference to Chronicles Of Riddick, when Riddick killed the emperor who slaughtered his people.
Dead Island reference
Proceed through the main story missions until you can leave the simulator. When you leave the simulator, go over to Keith David, and keep talking to him until he mentions the Dead Island game. One of Keith David's dialogue lines is 'I was twelve hours into Dead Island, now I'll never finish it. I can't forgive Zinyak for that.'
Mass Effect 3 referencesIn addition to the 'romance skipping straight to sex' as a jab at Mass Effect 3's romance system, during the Zin attack on the White House, the Reaper laser sound effect can be heard.
Metal Gear Solid series referencesYou are supposed to sneak through one of the missions by shooting light bulbs, and then the guards under them. When the light bulbs are shot, 'WTF' appears over the guards heads, like the exclamation point in the Metal Gear Solid series. You can also sneak under a box and fight an evil twin, which both occurred in Metal Gear Solid.
Minecraft referenceDuring a Security Deletion mission, the selected target you are required to kill is a Minecraft character.
Saints Row series referencesThe simulation 'Leave It To The Saints' is a parody of Leave It To Beaver. One of the things the mother says is 'Someone named Dex was here asking for you, but I didn't recognize him so I sent him away.' This is a reference to Dex, a former member of the Saints who did security for Ultor, and then turned terrorist in the Saints Row 2 DLC. He was supposed to appear in Saints Row: The Third, but was left out because 'Newcomers to the series wouldn't recognize the character and they didn't want to alienate them.'
Kinzi says that Keith David's voice is similar to Julius. Keith David provided the voice for himself and Julius Little.
Space Invaders referenceAt the beginning of the game when the president uses the gun turret to destroy alien ships, the alien ships will line up just like in the Space Invaders game.
Streets Of Rage referenceDuring a mission, you play a side-scroller called 'Saints Of Rage'.
Terminator referenceDuring the 'Ghost In The Machine' main story mission, you will encounter the 'murder bots' (you will also encounter this enemy throughout the game). They look exactly like the Terminator, and their weapons sound the same as the Terminator's weapons.
The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy referenceThe 'Don't Panic' trophy is earned when the earth is blown up by Zinyak. It is a reference to the words 'Don't Panic' written on The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy's book cover, in which Earth is blown up by an alien race.
The Matrix referencesDuring the 'Zero Cool' main story mission, Zinyak will explain how your race is doomed and will force you to pick a door. This is a reference to The Matrix: Reloaded, when Neo meets the architect of The Matrix.
When you first meet The Warden, you will have to defeat him by jumping into him and absorb him. This is a reference to when Neo jumps into Agent Smith and absorbs him in The Matrix.
They Live referenceDuring Keith David's 'He Lives' Loyalty mission, Roddy Piper attempts to knock some sense into Keith David, who is panicking about an alien invasion. Female Voice 2 (if not all of them) says 'Put on the glasses Keith, we're not aliens'. This is a reference to the movie They Live, in which Roddy Piper tries to force Keith David to put on a pair of glasses that reveal aliens who are disguised as humans.
Tron referenceDuring a Virus Collection mission, you will have to retrieve a bike. If you look closely at the bike, you will see it is the bike from the Tron movies.
Weapon referencesAlmost all weapon customizations in the game are a pop culture reference. The following are a few examples:
- The Captains pistol is from Firefly. Its plating form uses Shiny, which was a term for 'good' on Firefly.
- There is a phaser that jokes about Star Trek's redshirts saying 'Aliens never attack red', which was the opposite occurrence on Star Trek.
- Above the phaser is Han Solo's blaster, with a reference to the 'Han shot first' meme.
Saints Row 4 Customizable Vehicles
Easy 'Epic Jump Quest' trophyIt is not possible to reach the Nuke Plant with a single glide, no matter the height of the starting jump. However, although you cannot touch the ground or rooftops, you land on the sides of buildings, telephone poles, trees, etc. Run up the sides of those structures to continue your glide. Be careful about what buildings you run up, or you might not get enough height to reach the next building.
Jump from the casino and while in the air, use your mobile phone to call an airplane, then fly close to the Nuke Plant.
Easy 'Fist Meet Ground' trophyDuring the Hard 'Super Power Beatdown' activity, the second wave is a King Of The Hill where lots of enemies try to attack from close proximity. There is no limit to the number of enemies in this wave. Use some of the time in this wave killing enemies with your Death From Above super power to help get the 'Fist Meet Ground' trophy. Note: You must complete the entire event within seven minutes for your kills to count.
Easy 'He's Still On The Naughty List' trophyDuring 'The Santa Clawz' mission, fly to the giant Zinyak statue on Magarac Island. This is the same island where you control a statue to fight Paul. Once there, shoot the presents in the statue's hand to get the 'He's Still On The Naughty List' trophy.
Easy 'Saintified' trophyCreate a Saints Row Community account. Log into the account through the 'Community' option at the main menu or confirm your login during the following steps. During your initial character creation or at a Image As Designed clinic, select the 'Character Gallery' option, then choose 'Upload Character'. Confirm your choice to get the 'Saintified' trophy. Characters that are uploaded have to be processed through your Saints Row Community account to be downloaded at a later date.

Romance Options Guide:
How to Romance: Note: Male or female, your character in Saints Row 4 can have a romantic encounter with -every- homie in the list below. After rescuing a homie from the simulation, they will appear on the ship with one of two options; talk or romance. Choosing romance will not work - at first. Complete all of that character's extra missions and the Loyalty Mission first. With their loyalty assured, the character will now accept the 'romance'
option. It's just that easy.

Weapon references:
Almost every weapon customization is a pop culture reference. For example:
* The Captains pistol is from Firefly. Its plating form uses Shiny, which was a term for 'good' on Firefly.
* There is a phaser that jokes about Star Trek's redshirts saying 'Aliens never attack red', which was the opposite occurrence on Star Trek.
* Above the phaser is Han Solo's blaster, with a reference to the 'Han shot first' meme.

Saints Row series Easter Eggs:
The simulation 'Leave It To The Saints' is a parody of Leave It To Beaver. One of the things the mother says is 'Someone named Dex was here asking for you, but I didn't recognize him so I sent him away.' This is a reference to Dex, a former member of the Saints who did security for Ultor, and then turned terrorist in the Saints Row 2 DLC. He was supposed to appear in Saints Row: The
Third, but was left out because 'Newcomers to the series wouldn't recognize the character and they didn't want to alienate them.' Kinzi says that Keith David's voice is similar to Julius. Keith David provided the voice for himself and Julius Little.

TK Mayhem:
TK Mayhem is fairly difficult if you throw the balls at things. If you have unlimited Super Sprint however, you can pick a ball up with TK and use it as a battering ram with Super Sprint.

They Live reference:
During Keith David's Loyalty mission 'He Lives', Roddy Piper attempts to beat sense into Keith David who is panicking about an alien invasion. Female Voice 2 (if not all of them) says 'Put on the glasses Keith, we're not aliens'. This is a reference to They Live, in which Roddy Piper tries to force Keith David to put on a pair of glasses that reveal aliens who are disguised as humans.

I've recently acquired a Crusader tank for my garage:
It is very oppressive and white, and I would like to give it a paint job. However, like many authority vehicles it is apparently 'not customizable'. I'd leave it at that, if I were not previously able to customize a different kind of 'not customizable' vehicle:
I can assure you that the Challenger tank does not usually come in purple, but I can't for the life of me remember just how I managed to get it looking like that. Any advice would be most welcome.

There is a glitch you can abuse that will allow you to customise vehicles that are tagged as non-customisable.
First, leave the vehicle you wish to customise in a garage. Then, take any customisable vehicle to a Rim Jobs. Once you get into the customisation menu, press Garage and highlight the vehicle you want to customise. Without actually selecting the vehicle, exit the menu, and answer in the affirmative when it asks you for confirmation. You will now be in the customisation menu for the vehicle you highlighted.
Edit: According to this video, this glitch will not work with all vehicles driven into the Rim Jobs; only some will work for each, with the exception of the Gat Mobile, which will allow you to customise any vehicle.

If you're playing on the PC, you can install the Extended Customization mod which will allow you to customize all vehicles (including planes and helicopters) - even those not allowed to be customized by the vanilla game. Note that this mod is already part of the Gentlemen of Steelport mod compilation (which I recommend you install, instead of the standalone version). GoS contains other game fixes and improvements.
